“For me, Formula E in Brazil… This Is the place to be!” Said Alberto Longo at the Opening Panel of the Bloomberg NEF Zero Summit

This year’s Bloomberg NEF Zero Summit was celebrated today as part of the “Sustainabilty Week”, involving the activities that frame the 2024 São Paulo ePrix.

Formula E Co-founder and current ABT Cupra driver Lucas Di Grassi was in charge of the kickstarting chat in which he pointed out the advantages and opportunities of Brazil as a Top Clean Energy Producer.

He also shared his enthusiasm for the quickly growing Electric Vehicle industry, that he recognizes as something that belongs to the present, and not a future project anymore, while he celebrated the visible introduction of more affordable electric cars to the market.

Di Grassi also emphasized the importance of having the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as a practical laboratory for the development of new technologies that can be integrated in today’s commercial electric cars, but also as a showroom that can improve the public perception and make these vehicles more appealing to all audiences.

About the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, he highlighted the chance of testing the “Attack Charge” feature in the upcoming races, which aims to achieve a 30 second battery charge, not only adding a new strategic factor to the race, but also taking one step further towards the development of a fast charging commercial car battery.

Formula E Co-founder Alberto Longo, also participated in the opening panel of the Bloomberg NEF Zero Summit, reinforcing his commitment to support the Electric Vehicles fast growing technology, and praising Brazil as a country that “Has done the homework” and that is closer to complete their energy transition very soon: “For me, Formula E in Brazil… This is the place to be!” he added, also naming the country as “Probably the cleanest place in the world” as per its clean energy production.

Today’s Bloombeg NEF Zero Summit was intended to bring together important personalities and decision makers into the discussion of sustainable business oportunities such as battery charging stations, wind and solar energy, sustainable fasion, the production of ethanol, among others; as well as the search for resolutions that can help facilitate a cleaner future for São Paulo and the world.
